Carnvalon

The last day of carnival Bolano’s kid are used to go around the village looking for the “CODGA” (the rind of the pig that a time was precious and it was donated to the begging ones).
In the evening you can feel the true spirit of the carneval, "with the mask you can speak up without fear. every injustice is punished, looking for a virtual guilt around the place (a said puppet “CARNVALON “). Carnvalo is judged by a court and always condemned with the same predetermined ritual: the sentence to the pyre, therefore, accompanied from a rowdy procession goes towards the pyre already prepared. Here Carnvalon will present he’s testament and therefore will die.
The peolple, once found the responsible of bad things happened, party around the fire, using the collected Codga.
The codga today it has been transformed in traditional wild herbs cakes of Bolano (scarpaza), sweet cakes and other more or less traditional delicaessen.
The “batulele” are small planks with a grip to the extremity and two support in iron to produce sounds if blinked.
Used from the altar boys during Lent, when the bells are tied, in order to inform, carrugio by carrugio, approximating of the mess within one hour, often used also in order to inform of the passage of the codga….the same altar boys were transformed in this occasion in begging.
